FX
In video production, visual effects are the process of creating or manipulating graphics outside of the framework of a live-action shot. VFX is the process of combining live-action and computer graphics to generate realistic images.
VFX combines live-action footage (special effects) with created imagery (digital or optically, animals or monsters) to create realistic-looking scenes that would be unsafe, expensive, impractical, time-consuming, or impossible to record on film. With the emergence of economical and generally easy-to-use animation and compositing tools, visual effects using computer-generated imagery (CGI) have recently been more accessible to independent artists.
Here's some of the Maya work I've done:
Live footage was shot and then tracked in match mover. The tracked footage was then imported to Maya and with the help of fluids, a fire scene was created. To match the live footage with CG lighting was done properly so that it produces proper shadows and can be seen as realistic as possible.
Maya Bifrost. An ice cream cone was modeled and then Bifrost was applied. Small particles of "chocolate chip" fell in the biforst and interacted.
The whole scene is Modeled and rendered in Maya. Even the tiniest rock and leaves and then textured in Maya. Bifrost played a huge part in it.
A scene of a computer was shot. And then tracked in Pf Tracker. The tracked video was then imported to Maya and then there the work began, Modelled, textured, applied Bifrost. Multi render passes were rendered and compiled in nuke.
